Welcome to Lynn Lucas Middle School.
Hello my name is Gloria Belinowski, I am starting my 14th year with WISD. This will be my 5th year at Lynn Lucas as the Attendance Clerk. Mark and I have been married for almost 30 years and have two beautiful daughters and two beautiful granddaughters. I encourage all parents to call the attendance office 936-890-1417 before 8:00 if your child will not be in school. I also need a parent / doctor note anytime the student is out all day, come in late or leave early for the students folder. Students need to turn in notes to the front office.
*Attendance is taken EVERY period.
*If a student misses more than 10 minutes of a class it is considered an absence.
*Three unexcused absences (part or full days) with in a four week period may result in a citation.
When a Student Must Be Absent All Day
Parents are asked to please call the Attendance Clerk before 8:00 a.m. at 936-890-1417
Students are expected to be in the classroom at 7:15. If they sign in the front office at 7:25 or later they will be counted absent to 1st period, due to the 90% rule. The only excuse absences to 1st period is a doctors note or problems with buses ( Transportation will notify us on which bus #'s).
Students are expected to remain on campus until the end of the school day 2:25. However, should students need to leave for any reason, they must be signed out in the front office by a parent, guardian, or someone on the registration form with their drivers license. Students are not allowed to leave campus at noon for the purpose of eating lunch. If your student leaves school at 10 minutes before the 2:35 bell rings they will be counted absence for 7th period, due to the 90% rule.
Make all appointments after school as often as possible. If you can not make the appointment after school the student will be consider present if they attend school part of the day as long as they turn in a doctor/dentist note.
A student has perfect attendance if he/she has no reported absences or tardies for every subject, on every school day, for the entire year.
Regular attendance is very important and gives students the full benefit of an excellent education. Lynn Lucas Middle School follows the state education code 25.095:
(a) A school district or open enrollment charter school shall notify a student’s parent in writing at the beginning of the school year that if the student is absent from school on 10 or more days or parts of days within a six month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts of days within a four week period:
(1)The student’s parent is subject to prosecution under Section 25.093 and
