Student Arrival and Pick-up

Student Arrivals
The school day begins at 7:15 a.m. and ends at 2:35 p.m. Students may arrive on campus and the doors will open for breakfast at 6:45 a.m. Students should remain with their parent/guardian until a staff member is on duty at 6:45 a.m.  Parents may not leave students in front/rear of building unattended. Walkers and bike riders should not arrive to campus before this time. Please keep in mind that this is a safety issue to make sure students are supervised at all times while on campus.
Car Riders – Students should remain with their parent/guardian until a staff member is on duty at 6:45 a.m. When students arrive on campus in the morning, they should be dropped off on the sidewalk in front of the school. During afternoon dismissal the ability to keep students safe becomes a challenge unless we follow the same procedures. This school year, parents will be required to have a car rider sign displayed in the front window to indicate what student(s) are to ride in each car. Car rider signs are available at the LLMS front office.
Parent Parking/parking lots - When parents come to campus, parking is available only on the Campbell street (North side) of campus. All exits are secured other than the front entrance. Students cannot meet parents in the South parking lot by the tennis courts after school or travel across this parking lot. Parents will be directed to the North parking area.
Walkers/Bike Riders – Students should not arrive to campus before 6:45 a.m. Walkers and bike riders should exit through the back of the cafeteria, once ALL buses have been dismissed from the Field House Horseshoe parking lot. Students are not allowed to remain on campus once the school day ends, unless they are involved in a school/district sponsored extra-curricular activity that requires them to stay. Students should then be supervised by a faculty/staff member in charge of the event until picked up by a parent/guardian.
Bus Riders – The Transportation Department works hard to ensure that all students are picked-up and dropped off in a safe and timely manner. However, during the first few weeks of school, buses often run late. Please be aware that as school gets under way, bus schedules will become more accurate. Students can only ride the bus that they
are normally assigned. The phone number for Willis ISD Transportation Department is 936-856-1307.
