R.I.S.E. Mentor Program at LLMS

We are EXCITED ABOUT EDUCATION for the young people of our community and at Lynn Lucas Middle School we are also EXCITED to bring a new program to our campus! The R.I.S.E. program is a collaborative effort between community volunteers and LLMS administration and staff to pair mentors with students. The focus of the program is building positive relationships with adults that doesn't involve testing, tutoring or is in any way connected to academics. It is about being a positive role model in a student's life and building relationships that will continue through graduation and last a lifetime. Leigh Ann Elmore is the program coordinator for Lynn Lucas and will be working with the mentors and the district to provide, in many cases, someone to be there for the student through the most developmentally challenging years of their life. Mentors will have the opportunity to spend time with the students during scheduled luncheons throughout the year. This is a fantastic opportunity for the community and the district to work together for the betterment of our students at LLMS. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer mentor, please contact Leigh Ann Elmore at Lynn Lucas Middle School or through email at
