Welcome to Ms. Baker's 6th grade social studies home page. She teaches level and pre- AP (PAP) classes. Social Studies is a study of contemporary world cultures. Students will study regions around the world, such as North America, Central America, and South America. Classes will also learn about places like Europe, Russia and the Eurasian Republics, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and others.
Sixth grade Social Studies is so much more than just history, however. It includes topics and themes associated with citizenship, geography, culture, government, and economics. Using critical thinking to organize and use information will be expected, as well as analyzing information and communicating in written, oral, and visual forms.
Ms. Baker has been teaching 6th grade in Willis ISD since 1992. She appreciates her students, their families, and the community of Willis, Texas, and understands how valuable everyone is to the students' education and their success.
