7th Grade Science Classes Learn Through Dissection

he students in Mrs. Troy’s, Mrs. Evans's and Mrs Smith’s 7th grade science classes enjoyed a day of dissecting chicken wings as they learned about the function of the muscular and skeletal systems and how they interact together. They spent the class period identifying the ligaments and tendons and the function of each as an aid in movement. The students also had the opportunity to break open the bone to observe the bone marrow of the chicken giving them a real-life example of where new blood cells are formed.
